Billion Readers
Billion Readers or the BIRD project is a pan India initiative to implement high quality “Same Language Subtitling” on all TV channels and Digital Content Platforms (DCPs) for literacy, reading & accessibility. The BIRD initiative is led by IIM Ahmedabad along with institutional partners MIT Open Learning and J-PAL.
Design: The shape is inspired from the acronym of Billion Readers, which is BIRD.
The aesthetic is minimal and solid filled to achieve greater legibility at all sizes.
The nine circles, which act as the bird’s tail in the icon denote the nine zeroes which appear in the numeric value of a billion.
Sans Serif font is used to achieve a clean and crisp look.
Tracking has been increased between each letter to provide a balanced white space around the alphabets.
The logo can be used in split mode; icon and text separated as and when necessary for the media.
